Rajasthan housing board tweaks law for offering turnkey houses to owners
JAIPUR: The Rajasthan Housing Board (RHB) has made significant changes in design to provide “ready-to-shift” accommodations, especially the independent houses, to the buyers. Now, all accomodations of RHB would be constructed in such a way that buyers can simply buy these properties and move in.
“Till now, the independent houses which were given to the allottees by RHB did not have the facility of attached bath, boundary walls and stairs. Allottees had to build boundary walls and stairs at their own expense. Now, after the amendment, the new design, would help us to include these features and allotees will get a ready to move in accommodation,” said a senior official.
Apart from the independent houses, till now, these features were even not poresent even in RHB flats below the MIG category.
Following the approval of the designs, these had been sent to all the offices of the circle. Now, whatever new independent houses or multi-storeyed flats will be built by the Housing Board for different income groups, they will be built on the basis of these new types of designs.
“We had also taken suggestions from Vastu experts (architects) to prepare these designs. It means, that all new projects of ours would be Vastu compliant and quality wise no less than the properties built by the private builders,” said housing commissioner Pawan Arora.
The amended also includes a few specifications regarding the use of building materials as well, like use of high-quality tiles, texture paints, kitchen slabs and sinks made of granite and use of high-quality plasters. These would be applicable even of Economical Weaker Section (EWS) and Low Income Group (LIG) categories houses and flats.
“Recently RHB had taken up projects of constructing high-end luxurious projects in Pratap Nagar and Jagatpura and these amendments were necessary to implement those projects. However, the board has went forward and made these amendments applicable even for EWS and LIG schemes as several such schemes are lined up,” the official added.
