Bhubaneswar: Dhauli Heights gets new deadline, buyers irked
Replying to a question, cooperation minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak told the assembly on Wednesday that the remaining work has to be completed before allotment begins.
BHUBANESWAR: Homebuyers of Dhauli Heights, one of the housing projects taken up by Odisha Cooperative Housing Corporation Limited (OCHC) in Tamando on the city outskirts, will have to wait to get their flats as the project got a fresh deadline till March 2024.
Replying to a question, cooperation minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak told the assembly on Wednesday that the remaining work has to be completed before allotment begins.
Nayak said the housing project has been taken up jointly by OCHC and Odisha Police Housing and Welfare Corporation Limited (OPHWC). OCHC has paid Rs 5.48 crore to OPHWC while a balance of Rs 3.12 crore is yet to be paid causing the delay. The minister said OCHC has sought six months’ time to pay the remaining amount.
This is not the first time the project has got a new deadline.
“The project began in 2014 with 2016 as deadline. OCHC had an agreement with a private developer but it failed to complete it. Then the contract was given to OPHWC, but still the project is incomplete,” said N Siva Kumar, a homebuyer.
