Gurugram: 45 South City houses are under lens for violations
GURUGRAM: The department of town and country planning (DTCP) has issued show-cause notices to 45 residential properties in South City 2 for misuse of property and violation of Haryana Urban Development Act, 1975.
The enforcement team of DTCP during a recent survey found these properties violating norms after which the owners were served notices on Monday and directed to file replies within seven days, failing which action, including restoration orders and cancellation of occupation certificates, will be initiated against them.
District town planner Manish Yadav said permission for commercial activities can be taken from the department for some selected activities including, up to 25% or 50 sqm of the total construction area of the ground floor in residential colonies.
The activities include offices of property dealers, lawyers, chartered accountants, contractors, clinics, tax consultants, architects, town planners (without studios), company secretaries, ayurvedic and homeopaths, tourist guides, psychiatry clinics among others that fall under the no-nuisance category.
The enforcement team is carrying out sealing and demolition drives against illegal commercial activities in licenced colonies. So far, more than 200 properties have been sealed for building violations.
