Gurugram: Residents protest over ‘builder floor’ at Emaar Marbella
GURUGRAM: A group of residents of Emaar Marbella in Sector 66 staged a protest on Saturday afternoon against the developer for allegedly allowing the construction of builder floors without any discussion and consent from them.
The residents pointed out that the developer had presented the project as an exclusive villa complex. However, vacant plots have been sold to individual builders, paving the way for standalone apartments within the township.
Residents fear the builder floors would burden the civic infrastructure and parking problem. “There is going to be a parking problem as the current infrastructure was built keeping in mind the need of 260-270 families, not some 500 families,” said one of the residents, Arvind Khurana.
They claimed to have filed a complaint with the DTP Planning. “After investing around Rs 6.5 crore, I feel as if I’m taken for a ride by the developer for misrepresenting this township as an exclusive villa complex. We have already complained to DTP Planning, but action is yet to be taken,” said Sunil Sayal, president of BMB villa society.
Sandeep Girotra too asked “Why should we compromise on facilities when we have bought villas after spending crores?”
Both the developer and DTP Planning could not be reached for a comment in the matter. However, senior town planner Narendra Solanki said prima facie it seems there are no violations. “I have not yet received a complaint. Appropriate action will be taken after examining it,” he added
