MANGALURU: Minister for health and family welfare and Dakshina Kannada district minister Dinesh Gundu Rao said the government has given its nod to set up an IT park at Derebail in the city.

The project will be set up in more than three acres of the Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation Limited (KEONICS) under PPP model. A request for proposal (RFP) for the project will be ready within two months, the minister said here on Monday.

“The state government has approved the proposal on setting up the IT park on PPP mode. The government is considering the increase in the PPP term from 30 years to 60 years for the project,” he said.

On the proposed zonal regulation for Mangaluru city’s Master Plan, the minister said he has directed the Directorate of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) to conduct a study on amendments and recommendations made by the Mangaluru Urban Development Authority (Muda).

“A draft zonal regulation will be finalised after holding discussion with the district in-charge secretary soon,” he said.

New tenders, with changes in conditions, will be floated for the new shops developed by the Mangaluru Smart City Limited on Kadri Park Road, the minister said.
