Proposed IT Park in Ujjain to come up as plug and play
INDORE: The proposed Information Technology Park in Ujjain is planned to be developed as a plug and play facility and will be allocated on rental and lease basis to technology firms and startups.
Approximately 30 IT industries are anticipated to operate in the park, generating an estimated direct employment of 500 positions and exceeding 1,000 indirect jobs.
The park spanning more than 2 hectare, is projected to be constructed at a cost of Rs 48 crore by the Madhya Pradesh Development Corporation (MPIDC).
Rajesh Rathod, executive director of MPIDC, Ujjain said, “The IT Park will have ready space for technology firms and startups. It is being developed as a plug and play facility where ready spaces will be allotted on rental and lease to companies. With the establishment of Ujjain’s first IT Park, IT companies can benefit significantly in Ujjain due to its lower operating costs, which include affordable office spaces and a generally lower cost of living for employees. Additionally, the city provides opportunities for expansion and growth, supported by its strategic location and infrastructure development initiatives.”
The construction of the IT Park is scheduled for completion by 2025. The proposed IT Park will incorporate an incubation centre, a research facility, and designated spaces for IT companies and startups.
MPIDC claims to have received encouraging proposals from tech firms wishing to set up facilities in the plug and play facility .
“We have received almost 1.5 times higher investment proposals from companies. The idea is to give preference to local budding firms and entrepreneurs. We plan to come up with an expansion plan for the IT Park,” said Rathod.
The second phase of development will encompass expansion of facilities to attract additional companies and investors.
